A Rover Named Bob

The Adventures of a 1965 Land Rover Series 2a and its owner.

This is the ongoing story of the misadventures of me and my 1965 Frankenrover, half Series 2a and half Series 3.  Sharing all things on my car (his home, his name, his many pesky traits), and our adventures together, including my interest in art.

My Land Rover was built in 1965, I was built in 1964.

He was named BOB, after Bucket of Bolts

My Love of Cars – from the Toyota MR2 to the Wagoneer to today.

I’ve been fortunate to have some great cars and some great background in cars throughout my life.  My friends in high school loved formula one, which led to loving Gille Villeneuve and Ferraris, and ultimately all things cars.  My first car was a Toyota MR2, which Automobile Magazine dubbed as a better car than the Ferrari 308.

What was life before BOB?

It was a 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, which averaged 8 mpg.  It lives on in the Netherlands now.  The Land Rover with its aluminum body and galvanized chassis has been a dream versus the Wagoneer.
